Our Featured Volunteer…
Our volunteers make a difference in their communities, but they also walk away with memorable experiences that will stick with them for years to come. Are you a volunteer with a tale to tell? Please reach out to us to share your story here and on our blog.
Meet Nicole!
Q: Tell us a little about yourself. How long have you been volunteering with For 3 Sisters?
A: I have been volunteering with For 3 Sisters for about 5 years now. I started right after the pandemic.
Q: Why did you decide to volunteer with For 3 Sisters?
A: I volunteer because I see the change that this organization makes for people. I grew up in Olney, and I had learned early on that this town is different than most; we take care of one another like family. This initiative is how For 3 Sisters is run, and being a part of a community like this one is so heartwarming.

“I’ve grown personally throughout the time I have been volunteering, developing new skills, building relationships, and finding a sense of purpose in contributing to a cause greater than myself..”
Nicole S.
Q: Is there someone special whose memory inspires you to volunteer with For 3 Sisters?
A: My Aunt passed away from leukemia lymphoma cancer when I was in middle school. To the best of her ability, my Aunt never gave up on taking care of everyone in our family or neighbors, so I want to return that favor to others.
Q: Share a favorite memory of your volunteer work with For 3 Sisters.
A: I have always loved popping in to help with the bake sales. I always bake. It is something that my Aunt taught me how to do. Then, being able to see people happy to have a little treat and share their story reminds me how the small things can make the biggest difference.
