Men's Caregiver Support
A one of its kind for the MD/DC/VA area, as well as providing a private Facebook group, this program provides a source of support for male caregivers of breast cancer patients, past and present, focusing on a more social, less clinical setting.
You won't find this program in a hospital or clinic setting. Nope. We've learned from many male caregivers that they didn't feel comfortable in those settings. We want guys to feel comfortable being guys so we're taking our program to more social venues and settings like restaurant meet-ups, BBQs, beer and wine tastings, billiards, bowling, athletic events, and other great places!
Want to talk? Great! You'll be hanging out with other men who have experienced something similar to you. Want to just hangout? That's great too. Sometimes it's not about talking. It's about taking a minute for you. What better way to do that then with other guys who know how you feel.

"When my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer at 40, I had no idea how to handle it. As a primary caregiver I got some things right and some things very wrong. I would have loved to have a group of guys to talk with about their experiences. With our caregiver support group, I’m hoping to be a part of a support system I never had access to." - David
"November 11, 2011 isn’t my wedding anniversary; it’s the day my wife was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I had no idea what was ahead of me and how this “journey” would challenge me. As my wife’s caregiver, I knew I had to step it up. I asked myself how? I had no training, no one I could turn to that would understand what I was feeling. I knew I wasn’t the only caregiver to someone with Metastatic Breast Cancer. With this Caregivers Support Group, I now have a place to share my story with other guys who are on the same journey as mine” - Jimmy
